MupenRocket Alpha Release (0.2)

MupenRocket

MupenRocket has just been updated to 0.2!

I didn’t make any major changes, but there are some pretty good ones:

  • Updated included Mupen64Plus to r256 (July 10, 2011)
  • Added ability to newer versions of Mupen64Plus (Configuration -> Install New Mupen64Plus)
  • Made opening config files use user’s default text editor
  • Added “Open Save State Folder” menu item
  • Reworked config file viewing and installation
  • Cleaned up code
  • Fixed placement of items on window resize

I’m in the process of adding some other features, too:

  • Recent games list
  • More plugin configuration options
  • I’m open to suggestions: leave your suggestions in the comments below!

If you encounter any issues with this version of MupenRocket, I’d appreciate it if you’d take these steps in reporting an issue:

  • If you have trouble launching a game, turn on debug mode in Preferences->Launcher Settings and try launching the game again, then look for any relevant output you see in the resulting Terminal.app window
  • Check /Applications/Utilities/Console.app for any entries from “mupenrocket”
  • Leave a comment below with your issue and any information you can find!

MupenRocket Alpha Release (0.1)

MupenRocket

The SpeedofMac MP64+ Launcher has been revamped and renamed to MupenRocket!

Not a whole lot has changed, but there have been some bug fixes:

  • Fixed preference saving/loading issues
  • Fixed issue where games wouldn’t launch
  • Tidied menu
  • Cleaned up code

I’m in the process of adding some other features, too:

  • Recent games list
  • More plugin configuration options
  • I’m open to suggestions: leave your suggestions in the comments below!

I hope that this release fixes some long-standing issues with my little launcher and that it treats you well. If you encounter any issues, I’d appreciate it if you’d take these steps in reporting an issue:

  • If you have trouble launching a game, turn on debug mode in Preferences->Launcher Settings and try launching the game again, then look for any relevant output you see in the resulting Terminal.app window
