PCSX-Reloaded Latest (56027)
A new change set of PCSX-Reloaded was posted yesterday at the PCSX-Reloaded CodePlex site. The past few versions updated plugin code, mostly for Windows, but I’m happy to have my computer back since my luggage took an unexpected trip to Toronto without me, so I’m posting it anyway!
You can download a pre-compiled version from our PCSX-Reloaded section or grab the source code from the PCSX-Reloaded Source Code page and compile it yourself.
Let us know how this new change set treats you!
Enjoy!
Thanks so much for putting up the tutorial for pcsx – do you think there’ll ever be a way to improve the graphics on the mac like you can in windows?
You’re very welcome! I think that improved graphics are on their way. The good folk at PCSX-Reloaded recently ported new input and CD plugins to Mac, so I’ve got my fingers crossed that a new graphics plugin is down the road. There was also some progress with some nifty shaders, but I’m not sure how that’s coming along (see http://pcsxr.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=205180).
For now, we’ve got a great PS1 emulator for OS X, and if you want some better graphics, you can easily run the Windows version with Wine!
Hey there,
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum for asking this. I’m running the Windows version on OS X (Snow Leopard) with Wine, and I can’t seem to get it to create or load savestates. I can save to/load from the memory cards just fine, but when I try to save or load a state, nothing much happens.
Now I’m guessing this is because I screwed up configuring something. In your lovely tutorial, you say, “to set up your savestates directory, follow the directions for setting up your memory cards (above), choosing the appropriate savestate folder instead of a memory card folder.” Call me slow, but I’m not sure what you mean there. The Memcard Manager window doesn’t seem to have any options relating to savestates; is there a different configure window I’m somehow overlooking?
Thanks a ton for your awesome emulator!
That wording isn’t my best, but I’ve heard that save states aren’t working in PCSX-R when you run it with Wine on a Mac (see http://macscene.net/component/kunena/75-emulation/1451-pcsx-r-windows-version-with-wine-graphics-issues.html). They do work with ePSXe, though, and with PCSX-R for Mac. I’ll take a look around and see if I can find out anything about why save states aren’t working in Wine.
The folk over at http://pcsxr.codeplex.com/ are the ones to thank for this awesome emulator; I’ve just been helping to spread the good word!
That’s very useful to know. Thank you!

You’re very welcome! Let me know if I can help with anything else.
Is there a way to speed up PCSX-R for mac like you can with the windows version? I like to increase the speed for when i am grinding level up’s.
@Ryan
Not yet, I’m afraid! You can voice your support for implementing this feature at http://pcsxr.codeplex.com/discussions/267962
